OctoGate won’t let you down. You don’t need trained security administrators to keep OctoGate up to date. OctoGate IT provides qualified technical support for all products we sell and works every day to protect your OctoGate from malicious attacks. The staff in the support department are technically competent and possess in-depth knowledge. For us, this includes collaborative communication, equal access to all information, close cooperation with customers and resellers in problem-solving, and quick responses to changing needs. For all products purchased from us, we offer our Update Service or the Managed Service. To receive support via TeamViewer, please download our TeamViewer Quick Support Client.

Update Service:

The Update Service is mandatory and includes automatic firmware updates for all security applications on the OctoGate school firewall, as well as free email support. Telephone inquiries are billed on an hourly basis.

Managed Service:

Our Managed Service includes the Update Service and also provides manufacturer support via our free hotline (Mon–Fri: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.), as well as remote installation support, hourly fully automated virus updates, filter updates, and regular firmware updates. If a Managed Service contract has been concluded for the central appliance, the connected branch offices are also covered by the extended service.

The Update Service and Managed Service have a minimum term of 12 months. Both may be terminated with 3 months’ notice prior to the end of the first year. After the first year, the Update Service and Managed Service are automatically renewed for 3 months each. Termination may occur with 4 weeks’ notice prior to the end of the renewal period.

Important Notes: When submitting inquiries, please always have the OctoGate firewall hostname (8 characters, letters) and the serial number of the device in question ready. If you are expecting a technician from your dealer to visit your location, please let us know in advance. Our support team is available by phone to answer any questions you may have.

Warranty

The standard warranty period for hardware devices is 2 years. We recommend extending the warranty period to 3 years. The cost for this is 10% of the regular hardware price. We offer a 24-hour replacement service during the warranty period. Upon request, warranty extensions to 4 or 5 years are also available. Within the standard two-year warranty period, you have the option to use our trade-in service to exchange your device for a larger model for the difference in the standard hardware price plus a processing fee.
